IBM Bluemix and Watson

As an NLP researcher and tutor I need to exemplify to my student the real value of their studying effort. It is no longer enough to talk about theories and best practices. We must connect them to real world implementation and preferable COOL ones. And so Watson is an excellent NLP platform which helps me make NLP accessible and attractive. It is a story of technology developing alongside society needs and blooming thanks to the creative computing thinking. In August we had the pleasure of hosing in HIT a Bluemix and Watson workshop given by Jaffa Sztejnbok, a Business Analytics Cloud Architect from GTU, Cloud Ecosystem Development, IBM Israel. AS a university it is an important stage to be able to equip our student with the platform in order to enable the creation of Bluemix based implementation and in addition to use Watson engines for NLP application.

It is only the start but we hope with the great help of the IBM team to create a venue for student to use these platform to advance their way into Industry.
